Peaceful Protest: When Love Trumps Hate
On July 13th 2018, around 70,000 people hit the streets on London in protest of President Trump's state visit to the United Kingdom. This was just a part of a 'carnival of resistance', which took place across the nation.
The infamous Baby Trump Blimp (shown below), bought by crowdfunding, was visible for all to see throughout the protests in London.
Across the world, people have been shocked at Mr Trump's racism, homophobia, transphobia (to name but a few), and the policies he has been implementing which seriously infringe on human rights.
People from a huge cross-section of backgrounds came together for the protest. There were LGBTQ supporters who attended in outrage of his treatment of transgender people. There were feminists en masse in reaction to his misogynistic comments about women throughout the election and beyond. There were vegan activists protesting Trump's outright denial of global warming. There were families protesting the new legislation to separate children from their parents in immigration centres.
Here are a few of my snaps from the protest.
Hi - I'm Fran Cresswell. I am a woman on a mission to spread the messages the world needs to hear. Through photography, videography and website design, I work with the individuals and organisations who strive to make the world a better place.
I can be found travelling the world, meeting all the beautiful humans, surfing or paddle boarding (very badly) and hunting down the best vegan brownies.
